13RELAY LLC ACKNOWLEDGMENT, WAIVER AND RELEASE FROM LIABILITY (AWRL)
I understand acting as a volunteer at a running relay is a potentially hazardous activity, where I as a volunteer may be exposed to heavy vehicle traffic and required to stand for a period of several hours. I understand that I should not volunteer unless I am medically and physically able to do so. I also understand that police and security protection may not be provided at my volunteer position. I assume the risk of volunteering under such conditions. I further assume any and all other risks associated with participation as a volunteer in the The Cape Relay including, but not limited to illness, traveling to and from the Cape Relay, falls, contact with spectators or other participants, the effects of weather, all such risks being known and accepted by me. Having read this waiver and knowing these facts, and in consideration of my participation, I hereby for myself, my heirs, my executors, administrators or anyone else who might claim on my behalf, covenant not to sue, and waive, release, and discharge 13 Relay LLC, 13 Relay race officials, managers, volunteers, and any and all other sponsors, suppliers, agents, independent contractors, employees and other personnel in any way assisting or connecting with the Cape Relay from any and all claims or liability of any kind or nature whatsoever arising out of my participation as a volunteer in the Cape Relay, even though this liability may arise out of negligence of carelessness on the part of the persons or parties named in this waiver.
